Arrived in Paris this morning! Took an uber(yes they are in France too!) from the airport, and learned a lot of new words on the way from the driver. My French vocabulary doubled in those 50 minutes. Upon arrival at my temporary airbnb apartment, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bedrooms connected onto a small balcony. Since I just left my co-op in NYC this summer, that city is my measure for other metropolises. Paris, at least the areas that I traveled to today, is definitely less congested than New York. Although I did not venture into the more popular tourist areas, I do think that the greater pedestrian mobility can be accredited to large sidewalk widths. I'm glad to be back in a city with subway;the Paris metro system is great!
